ERPNext FICO Consultant


Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  1. Act as the ERPNext FICO Consultant, handling Finance & Accounting functional consulting.
  2. Configure ERPNext Finance modules: GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets, multi-currency, and tax setups.
  3. Design Chart of Accounts, fiscal years, workflows, and financial statements.
  4. Conduct GAP analysis and prepare functional specifications for the development team.
  5. Troubleshoot finance-related issues, including identifying incorrect reports and pinpointing the exact accounting entry errors.
  6. Provide timely solutions to customer queries on accounting mismatches, reconciliations, and financial discrepancies.
  7. Collaborate with the development team to ensure all customizations maintain accounting hygiene and comply with best practices.
  8. Develop dashboards and reports (Balance Sheet, P&L, MIS) to empower business decision-making.
  9. Execute data migration from legacy systems with accuracy and reconciliation.
  10. Train client finance teams, prepare documentation, and deliver post-go-live support.
  11. Continuously recommend improvements for efficiency, compliance, and accounting accuracy.

Key Skills

Technical / Functional

  1. Strong expertise in ERPNext Finance/Accounting modules (Chart of Accounts, GL, AR, AP, Assets, multi-currency, tax setups).
  2. Experience in troubleshooting financial discrepancies and incorrect reports.
  3. Ability to track, analyze, and resolve accounting entry errors within ERPNext.
  4. Knowledge of Frappe Framework, functional specifications, and integration processes.
  5. Understanding of accounting hygiene and ability to guide developers to maintain it.
  6. Proficiency in ERPNext dashboards, reporting, workflows, and financial statements.
  7. Familiarity with SAP FICO processes is a plus.

Soft Skills

  1. Excellent communication skills to interact with finance teams and translate technical fixes.
  2. Analytical and detail-oriented, especially in financial reconciliation and auditing.
  3. Strong problem-solving mindset with a consulting-first approach.
  4. Ability to train, document, and support end-users.
  5. Collaborative attitude to work with development, support, and finance stakeholders.

Experience / Education

  1. Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field. (CAs will be prefered)
  2. 3–5 years of ERP Finance consulting (ERPNext experience preferred).
  3. ERPNext Functional Consultant certification is desirable.
